EdUHK President’s Commendation Scheme Recognises Outstanding Students

 

EdUHK announced the awardee list of the President’s Commendation Scheme during the 2021/22 academic year. The Scheme recognises students’ outstanding performance beyond academic studies, namely Arts and Culture, Community Services, Leadership, Sports, and Innovation, Science and Technology. This year, four students received the President’s Commendation, while another three were awarded the President’s Appreciation.

EdUHK Clinches Six Awards at International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

 

EdUHK has received four silver medals and two bronze at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in March 2022. The exhibition is a renowned event to showcase innovations and inventions from all over the world. The award-winning inventions cover a variety of areas: behavioural and cognitive therapy, music education, environmental detection, image captioning and product search engines.

FeatureProviding opportunities for Special Educational Needs (SEN) students to shine

 

Many students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) have difficulties in pursuing post-secondary education. “The Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs” was established to meet the service gaps and expectations of continuing education from the SEN secondary school leavers.

 

Professor Kenneth Sin Kuen-fung and Mr Kennith So Kin-kwan introduce how the Academy promotes lifelong learning and 21st-century skills to SEN students through a series of practical courses and training.

HighlightsIntegrating Social Innovation and Service-learning

 

AADO presented the Alumni webinar “From Forest Curriculum to Positive Education” on 19 May 2022.

Dr Bonny Cheng, Chairperson of Myforestfun Academy, was invited to be our speaker. Bonny shared her insight on how the forest curriculum boosts the students’ problem-solving skills, independence and resilience. The participants learned that this nature-based learning ultimately brings deeper and lifelong impact. 

WorkshopCreativity Training Using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Materials and Methodology

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology is an innovative tool to help generate ideas. The bricks create a playful mindset. It is a systematic method that enables people to explore ideas, solve problems and achieve objectives.

The workshop will introduce the basic teaching application of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®. Through the hands-on minds-on activities, participants are facilitated to tackle uncertain, ambiguous and ever-evolving problems. Alumni are welcome to enrol .

EDTECH Conference 2022 - Inspiring & Emerging EDTECH in Special Education

 

The Integrated Centre for Wellbeing (I-WELL) and Research and Development Office Knowledge Transfer Sub-office of EdUHK is organizing the “EDTECH Conference 2022 - Inspiring & Emerging EDTECH in Special Education” on 9-10 June 2022 via Online and Face to Face at EdUHK. The conference aims to provide an open platform for experts and professionals to exchange and share their inspirational ideas and emerging technologies about all aspects of Special Education through a series of talks, workshops, and exhibitions.

EdTech Showcase

 

Educators and students have experienced from face-to-face class moving to virtual classrooms in the past two years. As schools resume to normal, educators realise technology can make teaching and learning more engaging, inclusive, personal and effective, and consider the school's blended learning and EdTech strategy in the next academic year.

 

EdTech Showcase organised by Esperanza on 1 June will introduce a few EdTech solutions in the areas of language learning, AI, coding, science, as well as essential soft skills such as creativity, collaboration, communication, problem solving, adaptability, tenacity and global citizenship. Esperanza will also present a blended learning professional development programme offered by the renowned International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
