Launch Ceremony of World Bank Project in Cambodia

EdUHK held a virtual ceremony on 29 December 2020 for the official launch of a World Bank project that aims to build the capacity of higher education teachers in Cambodia. During the ceremony, Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK, and Dr Chet Chealy, Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), signed a partnership agreement, which marked the beginning of the official collaboration between EdUHK and five leading Cambodian universities in the next three years. Professor Chetwyn Chan Appointed
EdUHK Vice President (Research and Development)

The Council of EdUHK approved on 18 December 2020 the appointment of Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin as the University’s Vice President (Research and Development) with effect from 1 July 2021. An accomplished scholar and researcher, Professor Chan is currently Associate Vice President (Learning and Teaching) and Chair Professor of Rehabilitation Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He is also Director of the University Research Facility in Behavioral and Systems Neuroscience at PolyU. Professor Chan obtained a PhD in Educational Psychology in 1995 from University of Alberta, Canada…

Social Enterprise Reached the Top Eight in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Hong Kong Region)

K-Farm Social Enterprise Limited (K-Farm), one of the social enterprises supported by EdUHK, participated in “The 7th Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of University Students of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan”. Founded by Alumnus Lucas Ngan, K-Farm is an early-stage start-up focusing on the promotion of a green and healthy lifestyle. It provides various types of educational programmes, such as farm tours and tech-farm training, for families and schools in Hong Kong.


One of the finalists in the University’s Education and Social Entrepreneur Fund (EASE Fund) 2019/20, the K-Farm team applied for the aforesaid competition. With the support of University’s Knowledge Transfer Sub-office (KTSO), the team made it to the semi-finals in the Hong Kong region and reached the top eight after competing with other teams in early December 2020. After the competition, K-Farm became more popular among entrepreneurs, tutors and investors in the respective field in the Greater Bay Area.

60th Anniversary Activity of Sir Robert Black College of Education Past Students' Association


To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Sir Robert Black College of Education (SRBCE), the SRBCE Past Students’ Association organised an exhibition at its Ho Sau Ki School and Lee Yat Ngok Memorial School, featuring valuable exhibits and photos of SRBCE. The opening of the 60th Anniversary Activity, held on 12 December 2020 at Ho Sau Ki School, was officiated by Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK. Also present at the event were instructors and alumni of SRBCE.

In addition to reminiscing SRBCE’s history, development and achievements of alumni, the guests held a moment of silence to commemorate and thank the recently deceased Alumnus Lu Kwong-fai, Chairman of SRBCE Past Students’ Association for his lifetime contribution to the education sector. Alumnus Lu served as Principal of several schools and demonstrated the “education for all without discrimination” spirit whilst nurturing his youth baseball team. After his retirement, he rendered tireless efforts to help underprivileged students in remote areas of China and build rural training colleges. Alumnus Lu is a role model of the younger generation.
