EdUHK Delegation Attends Meeting of China–Central Asia Ministers of Education and Inauguration of Central Asia Institute of the Global Teachers Development Institute
Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of EdUHK, led a delegation to Urumqi, Xinjiang on 12 May to attend the inaugural meeting of the China-Central Asia Ministers of Education and the opening ceremony of the Central Asia Institute of the Global Teachers Development Institute. This high-profile meeting was organised by China’s Ministry of Education and brought together for the first time ministers of education as well as senior officials from education authorities. Professor Ma Xingrui, Party Secretary of Xinjiang and member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, gave a welcome speech at the meeting, and Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education, delivered a keynote speech. EdUHK and Xinjiang Normal University Co-Host the "International Chinese Language Education and Belt and Road Educational Cooperation Symposium"
Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of EdUHK, led a delegation at the China-Central Asia Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Conference’ held on 12 and 13 May. The conference was co-organised by the Ministry of Education of China and The People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. EdUHK, in collaboration with Xinjiang Normal University, held one of the conference’s thematic symposiums, the ‘International Chinese Language Education and Belt and Road Education Cooperation Symposium’. At the event, educational research cooperation agreements were signed with several Central Asian universities, establishing a new paradigm with Xinjiang as the regional hub and Hong Kong as the international gateway. Harvard-EdUHK-Stanford Joint Symposium: Emerging Technologies and Future Talents held at EdUHK
The Harvard-EdUHK-Stanford Joint Symposium on Emerging Technologies and Future Talents, jointly organised by representatives from Harvard University, Stanford University and EdUHK, was held at the latter’s Tai Po campus between 8 and 10 May. The three-day symposium brought together scholars and industry experts from different parts of the world to explore and study the integration and application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, extended reality, machine learning, and the metaverse in teaching, training and talent development, through keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and other formats.
