Innovation, Technology and Industry Secretary Visits EdUHK to Learn of Innovation and Research Development

The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Professor Sun Dong visited EdUHK on 10 July, to meet and discuss with senior management and research project leaders to learn more about the University’s innovation technology and research achievements, as well as the latest developments. Accompanied by President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin and other EdUHK members, Professor Sun visited the Future Classrooms on EdUHK’s Tai Po Campus, after attending the launch ceremony for the free mobile app ‘EdUHK-Tencent JoyLearning PTH Journey’. “EdUHK-Tencent JoyLearning PTH Journey” — Mobile Application to Foster Putonghua Learning Proficiency

EdUHK and Tencent jointly announced the successful achievement of their charitable initiative – ‘EdUHK-Tencent JoyLearning PTH Journey’ on EdUHK’s Tai Po Campus on 10 July. The newly unveiled language learning app aims to revoluntionise Putonghua learning by integrating education and entertainment to kindle the students’ interest and passion for language learning. EdUHK’s Research Funding Hits Record High – Professor Yanzi Awarded Senior Research Fellow Funding

EdUHK announced the Department Head of Curriculum and Instruction Professor Yan Zi, was awarded nearly HK$8 million under the RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme 2024/25. The Scheme provides support integrated with relief from teaching and administrative duties for outstanding Professor rank researchers, and is considered the highest honour among researchers in Hong Kong. 【Invitation】The 30th Anniversary Banquet of the EdUHK

This year marks the 30th anniversary of EdUHK. The University will host a grand “30th Anniversary Banquet ” on 23 November 2024 (Saturday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event will bring together alumni, faculty and students, and all sectors of the community to celebrate the University’s achievements as it looks ahead to the future. 【Alumni Association Activities】Inauguration Dinner for EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin

The Education University of Hong Kong Alumni Association hosted a banquet on 4 July for EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin on the occasion of his inauguration. The event was attended by education leaders and alumni, who gathered to celebrate Professor Lee’s appointment. In his speech, Professor Lee expanded upon the term “inauguration” to outline the University’s future development plans. The dinner successfully brought together numerous alumni, all eager to support their alma mater’s growth and contribute to the advancement of the education sector. Read more

【Congratulations】Alumni Bestowed Honours or Appointed Justices of the Peace

The HKSAR government announced the list of Honours recipients and appointments of Justices of the Peace (JPs) for 2024 on 1 July. Eighteen EdUHK alumni have been awarded Honours in recognition of their significant contributions to Hong Kong, which have benefitted various sectors and communities. Additionally, two of our alumni have been appointed as JPs. Read more

【Congratulations】Alumni Recognised in the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence

The Education Bureau organised the Presentation Ceremony for the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2023/2024) to recognise teachers with outstanding performance on 5 July. Eleven of the 18 awardees are EdUHK alumni, with five receiving the Award for Teaching Excellence and six receiving the Certificate of Merit. Read more
