Appointment of Dr Tom Fong as EdUHK Vice President (Administration)

The Council of EdUHK approved the appointment of Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho as the University’s Vice President (Administration) with effect from 1 September 2024. Dr Fong is currently the Vice-President (Organisational Development) and Secretary to the Board of Governors and the Council of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK). Dr Fong served as Director of Student Affairs at the then Hong Kong Institute of Education (now EdUHK) between 2008 and 2014. Read more

EdUHK Elite Athletes Awarded Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship

EdUHK and Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund held a Presentation Ceremony on 16 January to present Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship 2023/24 to a new batch of outstanding EdUHK elite athletes, including Miss Chan Wing-yee (woodball), Mr Joseph Lau (cycling), Mr Tang Cheuk-yiu (shuttlecock) and Mr Yue Ching-ho (tennis). EdUHK Establishes the National Security and Legal Education Research Centre

To raise awareness among teachers and the public on safeguarding national security and on being law-abiding, EdUHK has established the National Security and Legal Education Research Centre (the Centre), and held a launch ceremony on 9 January. Professor Gu Minkang, Associate Co-Director of the Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures at EdUHK will serve as Director of the Centre. Read more

 

EdUHK in Professional and Vocational Education Initiative

To address the future development of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) in Hong Kong, EdUHK signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 4 January with The International Alliance for Education Accreditation (IAEA) to promote VPET by exploring professional accreditation mechanisms and curriculum development in this regard. This initiative echoes the government's strategy of promoting VPET as a parallel pathway to conventional academic education, as stated in its latest Policy Address. Read more

 

National Flag Raising Ceremony

EdUHK held the National Flag Raising Ceremony on its Tai Po campus on 1 January. Attending the ceremony were Mr Liu Maozhou, Inspector of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR (LOCPG); Dr Chen Zhilu, Deputy Division Director of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the LOCPG; and EdUHK Council members, senior management, staff and students. [Register Now] EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2024

AADO will organise the "EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2024" event on 23 March 2024 (Saturday), giving an opportunity for our alumni to come back to their alma mater for the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of EdUHK and a get-together with their fellow students. A wide range of activities will be provided on the day, including thematic talk, “Egg Hunt Carnival”, etc. You are cordially invited to attend and participate.
