EdUHK Recognises Asian Games and Asian Para Games Athletes

EdUHK held a ceremony in recognition of its elite athletes’ participation in the Asian Games and Asian Para Games on 30 October. Among the athletes who represented Hong Kong at the Games held in Hangzhou, 50 are EdUHK undergraduates or graduates. Apart from winning Hong Kong’s first gold medal in a rowing event, the EdUHK team also achieved outstanding results with two silver and six bronze medals in various sports including cycling, wushu and squash — accounting for a total of nine medals for Hong Kong. EdUHK Receives Donation from Mr Li Ka-shing to Promote AI Literacy

EdUHK launched the third phase of its Artificial Intelligence Literacy Programme on 19 October. The scope of the programme has been expanded to cover primary and secondary teachers, parents, and administrative staff in small and medium-sized enterprises. Since 2020, Mr Li Ka-shing has donated over HK$10 million to EdUHK to promote artificial intelligence literacy. Read more

2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Integrated Education Forum

EdUHK has joined hands with The Salvation Army to hold the ‘2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Inclusive Education Forum’ on 12-13 October. Titled ‘Unity and Cooperation, Inclusive Integration: A New Vision for Special Education in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao’, the two-day forum — featuring seminars and thematic speeches — provides practitioners with an opportunity to exchange insights into topics relating to inclusive education, namely enhancement of infrastructure and teacher capacity, curriculum development and pedagogical innovation. 38 EdUHK Scholars Named World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University

Thirty-eight scholars of EdUHK were named among the top 2% most-cited scientists in the world, in the latest annual rankings published by Stanford University. Among them were new President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin; Vice President (Research and Development) Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin; Advisor and Adjunct Chair Professor (Geography & Environmental Science) Professor Jim Chi-yung, Advisor (Environmental Science) Professor Wong Ming-hung; and Professor Rudolf Wu Shiu-sun. EdUHK Team Wins Bett Asia Awards 2023

EdUHK’s Centre of Excellence in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Innovations (CEHETLI) has won the Game Changer Award at the Bett Asia Awards 2023. The award celebrates those leveraging technology to make significant strides in the education field across the Asia-Pacific region. It represents notable recognition for CEHETLI – a higher education teacher capacity building project led by Professor Lim Cher-ping, at the Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD). National Flag Raising Ceremony

In celebration of the 74th Anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, EdUHK held a National Flag Raising Ceremony at the Tai Po campus on 1 October. Attending the ceremony were EdUHK Council Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Deputy Chairman Dr Terence Chan Ho-wah, Treasurer Ms Imma Ling Kit-sum, Council members, President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, senior management members, staff and students. Dr Chen Zhilu, Deputy Division Director of The Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, among others, was also present. AADO photo booth at graduation ceremonies

Graduates are invited to join the in-person faculty-based graduation ceremonies on four consecutive Saturdays between 25 November and 16 December. To celebrate with our graduates, AADO will set up a photo booth on the podium level of Block B2 at the Taipo campus and provide king-size photo frames and special placards for taking photos with friends and family. What a memorable moment to hold an EdUHK Graduation Bear on the day – so purchase one online at HK$500 each now.
