Opening of EdUHK North Point Study Centre

EdUHK held an opening ceremony for the North Point Study Centre on 26 September, which will provide additional and convenient learning space for staff and students. The seven-storey study centre – with approximately 3,700 square metres in gross floor area – was formerly a primary school premises. The converted study centre houses 12 classrooms of various sizes with multi-media equipment, an executive conference room, a learning commons, and a lecture theatre which can accommodate over 100 people. EdUHK Joins Hands with YNNU to Develop Multilingual Education Materials

EdUHK signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yunnan Normal University (YNNU) on 16 September to jointly establish the EdUHK–YNNU Joint Centre for Synergistic Innovation in South and Southeast Asia Education Development and Research (also known as the YNNU–EdUHK Joint Center for Synergistic Innovation in South and Southeast Asia Education Development and Research). GHMUA for Chinese Language Education Inauguration Ceremony cum First Forum

The Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Chinese Language Studies of EdUHK hosted an inauguration ceremony on 14 September, bringing together experts and scholars in Chinese language education to witness the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (GHMUA) for Chinese Language Education. The new alliance was jointly founded by EdUHK, Jinan University, and Macau University of Science and Technology, with the endorsement of the GHMUA Council. Read more

Visit from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation

Mr Tin Hing-sin, Chairman of the Board of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, together with Vice Chairman Mr Tai Hay-lap, members of the Board Mr Tin Wing-sin, Mr Leung Pak-yan, Dr Yuen Pong-yiu, Chief Executive Mr David Day and Deputy Chief Executive Mr Siu Hoi-ting, visited EdUHK on 7 September to learn about the latest developments at the University. They were greeted by the newly appointed President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin and other members of the senior management team. During the visit, they also exchanged views on topics such as moral education, education technology and the promotion of Chinese culture. Read more

EdUHK EdTech Innovations Win 16 iCAN Awards

EdUHK received 16 awards at the 8th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN) in 2023, including 6 gold medals, 1 silver, 1 bronze, 2 grand awards and 6 special prizes. The inventions covered a wide range of areas, including well-being technology, educational technology and marine conservation. Read more

Academic Year Inauguration cum Flag Raising Ceremony

EdUHK held the Academic Year Inauguration cum Flag Raising Ceremony on its Tai Po campus on 4 September, marking the commencement of the new academic year. Officiating at the event were EdUHK Deputy Council Chairman Dr Terence Chan Ho-wah, Treasurer Ms Imma Ling Kit-sum, President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Vice Presidents, Deans, and other senior management. They were joined by around 1,000 students and teachers from the University, EdUHK Jockey Club Primary School, and EdUHK Early Childhood Learning Centre. Watch the video

[Highlights] Mooncake Workshops

AADO recently held two mooncake-making workshops on 9 and 23 September. Under the guidance of instructor Mab Mak, alumni and friends learned how to make different flavours of mooncakes. The workshops were a success much enjoyed by all. Read more
