EdUHK’s First Tutoring and Counselling Programme: Helping Hand for Students with Mental Health Needs

In 2021, EdUHK launched the ‘Mind and Study Matter: Tutoring and Counselling Programme’ (the Programme), in collaboration with social enterprise Edge Development Centre. The objective is to train students from local universities and fresh graduates to become Well-being Tutors, and to provide quality tutorial and counselling services for secondary school students from low-income families with mental health needs. To date, the Programme has successfully trained 120 Well-Being Tutors to serve 186 local secondary students with psychological needs. Read more

Professor Leung Chi-hung Receives HK$6M+ Project Funding

Professor Leung Chi-hung at the Department of Special Education & Counselling of EdUHK has been awarded HK$5.82 million from the Quality Education Fund (QEF) and a donation of HK$540,000 from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation for two of his projects. The QEF is supporting Professor Leung’s project to develop a platform for assessing pre-service teachers. The project will utilise AI technology to evaluate the teaching and classroom management of new teachers on the Field Experience programme. The donation will help fund psychological therapy training in Sichuan. Read more

[Highlights] Summer Baking workshop

AADO organised a “Summer Baking Workshop” on 11 August. Under the guidance of chef instructor Jason Chow, participants learned how to make Strawberry Mille-Feuille and Mixed Berry Cheesecake, as well as numerous baking and culinary tips. The delicious final products with fruit toppings were irresistibly appetising. Read more
