EdUHK Launches English Language Learning Platform for Primary School Students

EdUHK held an event to launch a comprehensive online platform, ‘Learning English with Little Leaf’ on 14 July, featuring complementary videos, e-books, lesson plans and worksheets, free for primary school teachers and students to use in learning English. Read more

Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs Graduation Ceremony

EdUHK Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs held a graduation ceremony for its first cohort of students at the Tai Po campus on 7 July. Officiating at the ceremony were Ms Imelda Chan, Head of Charities (Healthy Community) of HKJC; Ms Chan Kit-ling Principal Education Officer (Special Education) of the EDB; Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK; Professor Kenneth Sin Kuen-fung, Director of CSENIE and the Academy; and Dr Leung Wing-hung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Special Schools Council. EdUHK’s Cross-institutional Study On the Use of Artificial Mussels to Monitor Radioactivity in the Ocean

Amid the global concern over the pollution of radioactive wastes in the ocean, EdUHK, the City University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong have conducted a cross-institutional study, which has found that ‘Artificial Mussels’ can effectively measure low concentration of radionuclides in the sea. It is believed that this technology can be applied as a reliable and effective solution for monitoring radioactive contamination around the world. Read more

National Flag Raising Ceremony on HKSAR Establishment Day

In celebration of the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, EdUHK held a National Flag Raising Ceremony on its Tai Po campus on 1 July. The Ceremony was attended by Council Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Deputy Chairman Dr Terence Chan Ho-wah, Treasurer Ms Imma Ling Kit-sum, senior management, staff, students and alumni, together with principals of primary and secondary schools. During the ceremony, the national, regional and university flags were raised by a team made up of EdUHK students. Watch the video

Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence 2022/2023

In July, the Education Bureau organised the Award Presentation Ceremony of the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2022/2023). These awards were presented in recognition of outstanding teaching in the following categories: “Technology Education Key Learning Area”, “General Studies” and “Guidance and Discipline (including Career Guidance)”. Among the 26 recipients, 22 are EdUHK alumni, with 6 of them receiving the Award for Teaching Excellence and the other 16 awarded the Certificate of Merit. Read more
