Appointment of Professor May Cheng as EdUHK Vice President (Academic)

EdUHK announced the appointment of Professor May Cheng May-hung as Vice President (Academic) for a term of three years with effect from 1 September 2023. Professor Cheng concurrently serves as the University’s Associate Vice President (Academic Affairs) cum Registrar. She is also a Chair Professor of Teacher Education at EdUHK. She will succeed the incumbent Vice President (Academic) and Provost, Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, who will become the University’s President this September. Read more

EdUHK Organises Theatre Production to Raise ASD Awareness

EdUHK held the third run of the Shine Together ‘A Kid Story’ Charity Drama at Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre Theatre between 9 and 11 June. The production raised funds for Project Aspire which provides support services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), their parents and teachers. The play attracted an audience of around 1,000 including EdUHK staff, students, alumni, families of students with special educational needs and members of the general public. Read more

EdUHK on Winning Teams of National Teaching Achievement Awards

Two cross-institutional initiatives, the ‘Academic Integrity and Ethics – Augmented Reality’ (AIE-AR) Project and the Joint University Mental Wellness Project, with EdUHK as team members, have won the Second-Class Prizes at the 2022 National Teaching Achievement Awards (Higher Education) presented by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. EdTech Innovations Salon 2023

EdUHK held the ‘EdTech Innovations Salon 2023’ on 13 June, showcasing the latest educational technologies (EdTech) and innovations developed by the University. The event has attracted over 400 stakeholders in the field. Funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, the Salon featured an exhibition, interactive forums and networking opportunities. Its aim was to provide a platform for professionals and educators to discuss the latest EdTech trends, while co-creating a sustainable ecosystem for the sector in Hong Kong. Read more

EdUHK Launches New 'GS Mini Theatre' Video Series

Following the launch of the first ‘GS Mini Theatre’ video series two years ago, EdUHK held a ceremony cum seminar on 1 June to release three new series. The event attracted an audience of nearly 100 educators. GS Mini Theatre is divided into four themes: ‘COVID-19 Pandemic’, ‘Climate Change’, ‘Quality Living in the STEM Era’ and ‘Smart City’. EdUHK Alumni Association held a banquet in honour of Professor Stephen Cheung on his retirement

To bid farewell to Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung as EdUHK President, the Education University of Hong Kong Alumni Association held a banquet in honour of Professor Cheung on 16 June, where alumni gathered to extend sincere wishes and heartfelt gratitude to him. In attendance were various representatives and members from alumni associations. Read more

GCEPSA annual meeting and luncheon

Grantham College of Education Past Students’ Association held its annual general meeting on 3 June, at which the next executive committee was elected. After the meeting, a luncheon was held for alumni from different graduation years to socialise. Two familiar faces from local television, alumni Mr Chung Chi-Kwong and Ms Helen Sun, also graced us with their presence. Through this event, attendees were able to reconnect and keep up with the latest news about the University and collectively contribute to their alma mater. Read more
