EdUHK Receives Donation from RFCA to Promote Fujian-Hong Kong Academic Collaboration

EdUHK has received a donation of HK$2 million from the Renshan Fortune Charity Association (RFCA), to support academic collaboration between EdUHK and Quanzhou Normal University in Fujian. A ceremony was held on 20 February, in which EdUHK President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-Leung and Executive Vice Chairman of RFCA Mr Li He-xie signed a donation agreement. Read more

EdUHK and PolyU Collaborate to Create the First Research Centre for Immersive Learning and Metaverse for Education in Hong Kong

EdUHK and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Centre for Immersive Learning and Metaverse in Education on 10 February. This collaboration between EdUHK and PolyU aims to develop a collaborative infrastructure for conducting interdisciplinary research to impact education, and also serve as a powerhouse to study technology-enhanced learning and teaching. EdUHK Contributes to Educational Transformation in Belt and Road Countries

President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung hosted a Spring Reception on 9 February, in which he briefed the media on the latest developments at the University. Joining Professor Cheung were three distinguished guests from Cambodia: His Excellency Mak Ngoy, Director General of Higher Education; Dr Nith Bunlay, Deputy Director General of Higher Education; and Dr Sok Soth, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. They are EdUHK’s partners in a knowledge transfer project. Read more

EdUHK Joins Hands with Xiqu Centre to Stage Cantonese Opera Teaching Awards Ceremony

The Research Centre for Transmission of Cantonese Opera at EdUHK held a ceremony on 6 February to present the ‘Cantonese Opera Teaching Awards for Hong Kong Music Teachers 2022’. The awards were given in recognition of outstanding music teachers’ dedication to promoting Cantonese opera through innovative teaching. Read more

‘Beyond the Classroom: Extra-curricular Activities’ – Reminiscences of Childhood through Recollection of Classic Toys

Co-organised by EdUHK and the Hong Kong Extra-curricular Activities Masters’ Association, the ‘Beyond the Classroom: Extra-curricular Activities’ exhibition comprises different sections, including ‘A Century of Nostalgia: Extra-curricular Activities in Hong Kong’, ‘Extra-curricular Enrichment for Whole-person Development’, etc. It delves into the development and evolution of extra-curricular activities in Hong Kong over the last century. The exhibition is offering free admission for the public, and a docent service is available for group bookings. Read more

Visit by the Association of Hong Kong Quanzhou Charity Promotion

Mr Chan Wing-chor, Chairman of the Association of Hong Kong Quanzhou Charity Promotion, together with Executive Vice Chairmen Mr Chan Wah-leung, Mr Cheng Ahpeng and Mr Li Hexie, as well as Vice Chairmen Ms Linda Chan and Mr William Chan, visited EdUHK to gain a deeper understanding of the University’s vision and its latest developments. [Register Now] EdUHK Alumni Family Day is back on 25 March 2023!

EdUHK Alumni Family Day will be held on 25 March (Saturday). You are cordially invited to the Opening Ceremony at the Central Plaza at 1pm and The Legacy of Cantonese Arts – Opening Ceremony of Dr Kwong Kai-to Memorial Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting at Library at 2pm. In addition to learning and game booths, there will be a series of fun activities including: guide tours, workshops, newly emerged sports and more. So register now.

Sharing from graduates

Last November and December, the class of 2022 invited friends and family to attend in-person graduation ceremonies to celebrate and share the joy. President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung joined graduates at various check-in points around campus for photo-taking.
