EdUHK Seminar on Local Sports Development

EdUHK held a seminar on 20 January, in which the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung discussed the prospect of local sports development and the role of local educational institutions in promoting physical activity. Entitled ‘Leader’s Dialogue on New Chapter for Sports’, the seminar attracted over 100 school principals, teachers, scholars and practitioners in the field, as well as members of local sports associations.

2023 Student Fair – EdUHK Lunar New Year Fair

As part of its ongoing effort to promote entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among students, EdUHK held a two-day ‘2023 Student Fair – EdUHK Lunar New Year Fair’ at PMQ in Central on 14-15 January. The 2023 Student Fair was organised by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Education Unit (EIEU) of the EdUHK Library, sponsored by Pat Chun International Limited and supported by St. James' Settlement. It featured over 40 stalls run by EdUHK students and alumni, as well as students from five invited schools.

Dr David Wong Yau-kar Appointed Chairman of Education Commission

Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Council Chairman of EdUHK, has been appointed Chairman of the Education Commission effective from 1 January 2023. The Education Commission is a non-statutory body which advises the Government on the overall development of education. It works with the Education Bureau to nurture multi-skilled talent for Hong Kong and mainland China.

Dr Derwin Chan Elected Fellow of British Psychological Society

Dr Derwin Chan King-chung, Associate Head and Associate Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education, EdUHK, has been named Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) for his significant contribution to the advancement or communication of psychological knowledge or practice.

[Upcoming activities] EdUHK Alumni Family Day 2023

EdUHK Alumni Family Day is back! AADO will resume organising Alumni Family Day on 25 March (Sat). Alumni are invited to return and enjoy a fun day at EdUHK Tai Po campus. There will be a series of exciting and family-friendly activities on the day, such as bouncy castle, newly emerged sports, parent-child workshops, game booths, and more. Details will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

[Highlights] Chinese New Year Cooking Workshop

AADO held a cooking workshop for alumni and their friends to try their hands at making festive foods – Ginger-flavoured Chinese New Year’s Cake and Deep-Fried Taro Shred Balls – to celebrate the Chinese New Year on 18 January. Guided by chef instructor Mabel Ho, the participants mastered the skills required to make these delicacies. The participants all enjoyed the food made with their own hands.
