EdUHK and Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Launch Scholarship for Elite Athletes

EdUHK has received a donation from Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund to establish the Nissin Foods Scholarship for Elite Athletes. The Scholarship is intended to encourage elite athletes who are in the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) programme or the Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme at EdUHK to continue to pursue excellence in both their athletic performance and their studies to become educators of health in the future.

EdUHK to Allocate over $10M to Support Youth Start-ups in the GBA

EdUHK kicked off the ‘EdUHK Education And Social Entrepreneurs (EASE) Fund – The GBA Youth Entrepreneur Funding Scheme’ on 10 December, marking the launch of quadripartite collaboration among the government, commercial, academic and research sectors. The Scheme enables EdUHK’s 14 winning start-up teams to realise their business plans step by step, while developing an ecosystem within the higher education sector, in which they can grow.

EdUHK Establishes GBA Cantonese Opera Development Alliance

EdUHK announced the establishment of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Cantonese Opera Development Alliance on 10 December. Comprising 14 members from academic institutions, organisations and bodies, the Alliance aims to forge close collaboration among GBA counterparts; foster academic, cultural and arts exchange, and promote the preservation of Cantonese opera through its connections with the world. The University’s Research Centre for Transmission of Cantonese Opera (RCTCO) will serve as the secretariat.

[Upcoming activities] Chinese New Year Cooking Workshop

It is time to prepare various kinds of celebratory food for the Chinese New Year. AADO will organise a cooking workshop for alumni to learn how to prepare two festive dishes – ginger flavoured Chinese New Year's Cake and Deep-Fried Taro Shred Balls – from a professional chef. The workshops are free of charge. Enrol now. *Details in Chinese only.

[Highlights] Christmas Cooking Workshop

Christmas is a great occasion for cooking and enjoying a feast. AADO recently held two workshops for alumni and their friends try their hands at making festive food on 10 and 17 December. Guided by chef instructors Mab Mak and Jason Chow, the participants mastered the skills required to make the delicious food. A big thank you for your support – we received an overwhelming support of more than 1,000 enrolments.
