‘Shine Together’ Charity Virtual Run Award Ceremony

EdUHK held the ‘Shine Together’ Charity Virtual Run Award Ceremony on its Tai Po campus on 26 November. Awards were presented to the winners of the Charity Virtual Run and thanks were given to sponsors and donors who have supported EdUHK projects tailored to students with special educational needs. The event attracted over 400 participants including EdUHK staff, students, alumni and the members of the general public.

EdUHK Receives HK$18M to Promote Children’s Social-emotional Competence

EdUHK received further funding of HK$18 million from the Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation to launch a new three-year project in September 2022, entitled ‘Early Advancement in Resilience: A Downward Extension of the 3Es Programme that Promotes Children’s Social-emotional Competence’ (the EAR project). This project is an extension of an initiative, ‘Early Prevention, Early Identification, and Early Intervention: A School-Based Support Model of Social-Emotional Development for Kindergarten Children’, which came to fruition in 2021.

Top Scholars from Peking University on EdUHK Campus

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Faculty of Humanities (FHM) has launched a visiting professor scheme, bringing together eminent academics in the field to foster scholarly exchange and create intellectual and pedagogical synergy. Under FHM’s ‘Chinese History Education Scheme’, Professor Sun Hua and Professor Chen Suzhen were appointed as the first batch of Visiting Professors. During their six-month stay at EdUHK, they will give public lectures covering a wide range of topics.

EdUHK Receives Donation Supporting the Innovative Education Research Centre for Special Education in the Greater Bay Area

EdUHK received a generous donation of HK$750,000 from Datality Lab Limited in support of the Innovative Education Research Centre for Special Education in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The project is led by Prof Leung Chi-hung, Co-director of I-WELL. It aims to develop an Innovative Education Research Centre in the GBA to collect data and embed AI technology to improve assessment and training services targeting children with special needs, their teachers and parents.

[Upcoming activities] Christmas Cooking Workshop 2022

Christmas is a time for feasting on great food and drink. In December, AADO will organise two culinary workshops for alumni to learn how to make four different Christmas dishes from a professional chef, including roasted chicken, cookies, beef tenderloin and puffs. The workshops are free to attend. Enrol now. *Details in Chinese only.

Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2021/2022)

The Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2021/2022) organised by the Education Bureau was announced in November 2022. Excelling under the categories of “Physical Education Key Learning Area”, “Science Education Key Learning Area” and “Curriculum Leadership”, all 19 recipients are EdUHK alumni, with 6 of them receiving the Award for Teaching Excellence and the other 13 awarded the Certificate of Merit.
