EdUHK to Present Honorary Fellowships to Two Distinguished Individuals

EdUHK will confer Honorary Fellowships on two distinguished individuals this year, namely Ms Ada Ho How-sim and Ms Shirley Loo, BBS, MH, JP (in alphabetical order of surnames), in recognition of their remarkable contributions to the University, the education sector and the wider community. With their vision, expertise and extraordinary commitment, these Honorary Fellows have made outstanding contributions in the field of education, helping to create positive change and harmony in society. Ms Ada Ho How-sim is our alumna, graduating from the Sir Robert Black College of Education. Our heartiest congratulations!

EdUHK Artists’ Works Featured in Drawing Exhibition


Four staff members at the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts of EdUHK, together with 17 renowned artists and experienced teachers in local art institutions, have been invited to showcase their artworks in the “Drawing as the Core” exhibition. Sponsored by Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the virtual exhibition is a project that explores the relationship of drawing with other mediums, and reiterates the role of drawing in the creative process. Apart from exhibiting the artworks, the project presents a series of video interviews which enable the public to understand more about the artists, the thinking behind their artworks, and their insights in their creative journey.

Mooncake Production Workshop and Our Appreciations to Participants Making Donations to EdUHK

The Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) organised the “Mooncake Production Workshop” on 19 September 2020.  As a precautionary measure against COVID-19, the number of participants of the workshop was reduced by half.  Nonetheless, the participants comprising alumni and their friends enjoyed the interesting process of making their own lava custard mooncake and matcha red bean mooncake.  In addition, AADO is thankful to the majority of participants for their generosity and donations to EdUHK in supporting the development of the University.

Start-up Recognised as a Quality Social Enterprise

Edge Support Association, co-founded by Mr Pokky Choi Poi-ki (Alumnus of EdUHK) and his partner Mr Ikey Cheung Ho-yuen, is a start-up launched with the support of the seed money from the University’s Education and Social Entrepreneurs (EASE) Fund Scheme in 2019. The team is the first-of-its-kind service provider to offer systematic solutions, through the “Efficacious Support for ALL (ESA) Platform” developed by them, to address social service gaps in education institutions. Recently, with the potential social values and economic impact of the ESA duly recognised, the Edge Support Association has been accredited by the Social Enterprise Endorsement (SEE) Mark launched by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Social Enterprises.
