Donation Ceremony Highlights: Generous Donation from FHKA in Support of Elite Athletes’ Dual Pathway

 

The University received a generous donation of HK$2 million from the Friends of Hong Kong Association (FHKA) in support of the University’s Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Fund. FHKA President Dr Henry Tang Ying-yen expressed his hope that the donation would support outstanding athletes to continue to develop their sporting careers and achieve success on the sports field.

EdUHK to Commence Global Search for the Next President

 

The University will conduct a global search after incumbent President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung has notified the Council that he will not seek reappointment upon the completion of his current term on 31 August 2023. Council Chairman Dr Wong Yau-kar thanked Professor Cheung for his exemplary leadership in the significant transformation and impressive growth of the then Institute and the University.

WebinarLife education and STEM education: Aquaponics

 

“Aquaponics” is a sustainable farming method raising fish and vegetables in a closed-loop system where the fish fertilize the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish. In this seminar, Ms Kitty Poon, Chairperson of LoveXpress, will share her experience on how to promote green living and encourage a green lifestyle in schools through this “Life Impacts Life” system. Enrol now.

HighlightsDesign Thinking: Fostering creativity in education

 

 

The Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) presented the webinar of Design Thinking Series “Fostering Creativity in Education” on 18 February 2022.

 

Mr Henry Tam, Co-Founder of Design for HK, was invited to be our speaker. Mr Tam inspired the participants through the lens of design thinking. After acquiring knowledge of design thinking theories and tools from Mr Tam, participants could apply it in school teaching, design and equip their students for the challenges in the future.

 

Participants enjoyed and appreciated the well-illustrated and informative talk from Henry.

 

 

 

 
 
 
 

Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies are now open for application

 

2022 Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP)

 

The KGSP for Graduate Degrees is now open for application. It is a Scholarship Program offered by the Nation Institute for International Education (NIIED), which provides full scholarship (tuition fee, airline tickets, living subsidies, etc. are included) to two Hong Kong residents who are interested in studying Graduate Degrees in Korea.

Sir Robert Black Trust Fund

 

Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Committee now invites application for the 2022-2023 Scholarships for Postgraduate for individuals to pursue postgraduate courses or other training programmes, local and overseas. The Scholarships is to provide opportunities for people of exceptional merit, who have demonstrated their potential to serve the community through the qualities of personal leadership. Priority will therefore be given to candidates of proven ability and experience in fields which have a significant impact on community life, e.g. medical studies, education, arts, sciences, etc.

Support scheme for EdUHK graduands 2022

 

The Education University of Hong Kong Alumni Association has set up a WhatsApp chat group to support graduands in their job search for teaching or assistant teaching (TA) positions. The support includes providing recruitment information and the latest job information, telephone consultation service, reviewing and correcting job application letters, experienced principals and teachers sharing interview tips, etc. All students are welcome to join.
