EdUHK Alumna and Students Finish the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with Medals

Five students and a graduate of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) programme at EdUHK, representing Hong Kong, finished the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. They were Michael Cheng Chun-leung (Sailing), Doo Hoi-kem and Lee Ho-ching (Table Tennis), Sarah Lee Wai-sze and Leung Bo-yee (Cycling Track) and Shek Wai-hung (Artistic Gymnastics). They have been working very hard to be where they are today. In particular, Doo Hoi-kem, Lee Ho-ching and Lee Wai-sze took the bronze medals at the Tokyo Olympics. Our heartiest congratulations!

Symposium for Hong Kong New Generations of Cantonese Opera Playwriting

EdUHK organised the “Symposium for Hong Kong New Generations of Cantonese Opera Playwriting 2021” on 7 August to provide a platform for Cantonese opera artists, playwrights, practitioners and scholars to share and exchange their views on playwriting development, performance practice and the culture of Cantonese opera. Supported by the Cantonese Opera Development Fund, the symposium was co-hosted by the Research Centre for Transmission of Cantonese Opera of the EdUHK and the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Cooking Workshop

Alumni’s all time favourite "Cooking Workshop" is back! Our office will organise the "Mooncake Production Workshop" on 18 September. The professional tutor will teach our alumni and friends how to make two kinds of mooncakes (Taro Pastry Mooncake and Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Egg Yolks). Through the workshop, participants can not only learn the secret of making delicious mooncake, but also celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with other participants. Alumni Interview – Chung Chi-kwong (Chung Sir)

Although the Olympic came to a close in Tokyo, the spirit of sportsmanship continues! Over the years, alumni of EdUHK and former Colleges of Education have excelled and made tremendous contributions in the sports sector. One of them is Chung Chi-kwong (Chung Sir), a famous sports narrator and host. Alumnus Chung studied at the Grantham College of Education from 1985 to 1988, with a major in sports. The three-year studies and campus life allowed him to acquire profound knowledge in sports and meet many mentors and friends, which are conducive to his future endeavor in the sports sector.
