Start-up Team Founded by Alumni Awarded Seed Fund from the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund

Shopgrouper, a start-up team founded by Dicky Kwok Wing-cheung and Lam Yick-sun (both are alumni of EdUHK), received HK$100,000 seed funding from the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (Hong Kong Young Entrepreneur Programme) to kick-start their innovation and technology business. This start-up team was one of the EdUHK’s EASE Fund 2019/20 teams. Through different training workshops and consultation sessions offered by the EdUHK’s Knowledge Transfer Sub-office, the alumni acquired the essential knowledge and skills as entrepreneurs and mastered market information to position their start-up project better. Their goal is to develop an e-commerce product search engine to make product search available on online stores as well as physical stores around the world, and to provide users with a fast and accurate product search experience. Alumnus Kwok said, “By using our own developed search engine, we can index the products at different online stores or physical stores, so that users can search for the products they need by using keywords or locations. We hope to make shopping more convenient and improve people's quality of life - everyone can search for the products they need easily, regardless of online stores or physical stores in the real world."
