Interview with Alumni – “A” Contribution @ Special Education
Alumnus Lam Ho-man

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has always shouldered the responsibility of nurturing special education teachers in Hong Kong for them to contribute to the special education profession and to help students with special educational needs to integrate into society and develop their strengths. The Alumni Affairs and Development Office interviewed Alumnus Lam Ho-man earlier on to find out his history and contributions in special education.

Alumnus Lam Ho-man was a naughty boy who loved making fun of people. At that time, his family did not know anything about special education. They did not understand the root cause of the problem and only tried to discipline him through beating and scolding. It was not until Form 5 when he got himself into trouble and decided to “radically change his ways”. Later on, he enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Special Needs) Programme at EdUHK and was diagnosed as a person with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). As a person who had come all the way through, he decided to make a contribution to the special education profession with his personal experience.
