On 1 December 2018, our alumni and friends joined the Christmas Cooking Class organised by the Alumni Affairs and Development Office, and made delicious dishes with a Christmas flavour under the guidance of Jason, a tutor at Shun Hing Cooking Centre. The venue was filled with a joyful festive atmosphere.

In addition, AADO is thankful to a few of our alumni who attended this workshop for their generosity and donations to The Education University of Hong Kong in supporting the establishment of bursaries to help their juniors in need. We hope that donations will continue to come in to set up more bursaries for helping students with financial difficulties.

The Naming Ceremony of “Mr Chan Hon Ming Mrs Chan So Wah Fuk Christina Room” cum Cheque Presentation Ceremony was held at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) earlier in appreciation of the generous donation from Mr Chan Hon Ming and Mrs Chan So Wah Fuk Christina. More than 80 guests attended the ceremony.

In his welcoming remarks, Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK, thanked Mr Chan Hon Ming, an alumnus of the Northcote College of Education, and Mrs Chan So Wah Fuk Christina for their continuous support to the University.

Mr and Mrs Chan pointed out at the ceremony, “What the two of us can do is very limited. We hope we can encourage more people to support education in Hong Kong. We are very confident that EdUHK can prepare knowledgeable and morally responsible educators who will become good teachers for the future generations.”

In recognition of Mr and Mrs Chan’s support to The Education University of Hong Kong Foundation, the University has specially named a general teaching room on the Tai Po Campus as the “Mr Chan Hon Ming Mrs Chan So Wah Fuk Christina Room”.
