Four Outstanding Alumni Receiving Honours and Awards from the HKSAR Government in 2016

It is our pleasure to announce that four of our outstanding alumni will be presented honours and commendation by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government this year.

Alumnus Yiu Yeung-lung, James, PMSM (Sir Robert Black College of Education) is the retired Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force. Having served the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force for 40 years, he was awarded the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedicated service.

Alumnus Chow Ping Yan, Alan (Grantham College of Education), Alumna Lam King Mei, Helen (The Education University of Hong Kong) and Alumna Cheung Yee May, Mimi (The Education University of Hong Kong) received the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service in recognition of the contribution they have made in the community.

Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence 2015/2016

The latest round of “The Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2015/2016)” Award Presentation Ceremony, organized by the Education Bureau, was held on 8 July to honour accomplished teachers who demonstrated teaching excellence under different themes: “Curriculum Leadership”, “Mathematics Education Key Learning Area” and “Special Educational Needs”. This year 35 awardees are alumni of The Education University of Hong Kong or the former Colleges of Education, among whom 12 were awarded the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence and 23 received the Certificate of Merit. Congratulations to them! Since 2003 a total of 808 teachers have received the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence / Certificate of Merit, 602 awardees are our alumni (about 75%).


Information Day 2016 Graduate’s Experience Sharing

To provide an opportunity for potential students to learn more about EdUHK’s academic programmes and career development in the education sector, graduate experience sharing sessions will be held on Information Day. Alumni are invited to join us in discussing their experience in teaching practice, exchange programmes, hall activities or working life. With your participation, we hope that more outstanding students will be attracted to joining the teaching profession.
