1994年，香港教育學院（教院）結合5所前師訓院校而成立，當中包括在1982年成立的語文教育學院。語文教育學院是香港語文教育的先鋒，並於1982-1993十二年間，為超過8,000位在職老師提供中文及英文復修課程，也為6,000多位在職老師提供普通話相關課程。教院建立在語文教育學院的基礎上，繼續發展提升香港語文教育教學和研究工作。

2013年5月4日（星期六）是慶祝語文教育學院成立30周年的師友重聚日，您可以在那天跟語文教育學院眾師友聚首話舊。目前出席的院長、導師及職員已有白敬理博士（Dr. Verner Bickley）、簡閎達博士（Dr. John Clark）、何國祥博士、陳煒良博士、文綺芬博士、謝家浩博士、馬安妮博士、李美桃博士、陳淑貞博士、鄺銳強博士、黃仁娜女士、李家和博士、關之英博士、陳建嫻女士、李潔冰博士、林婉君博士、余李懷思博士、謝曹玉華博士、趙燕驊先生、雷倩儀女士、李安妮女士、施毓愉先生、郭羅佩霞女士、姜桂卿女士、羅燕屏女士、校友劉筱玲博士等等，嘉賓前教育署署長李越挺博士也應邀出席。

In 1994, the Institute of Language in Education (ILE) was amalgamated into The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd). Founded in 1982, the Institute of Language in Education (ILE) played an important role in the arena of Language in Education. Over the 12 years from 1982 to 1993, more than 8,000 in-service teachers completed English/Chinese refresher courses and more than 6,000 in-service teachers received Putonghua training. The groundwork laid by ILE has enabled HKIEd to continue with its role in enhancing language education and research in Hong Kong.

Come home on 4 May 2013 (Sat) to celebrate ILE 30th Anniversary.  Meet tutors and fellow participants.  On that day, you could meet Dr. Verner Bickley, Dr. John Clark, Dr. Ho Kwok-cheung, Dr. Chan Wai-leung, Dr. Evelyn Man, Dr. Tse Ka-ho, Dr. Anne Ma, Dr. May Lee, Dr. Esther Chan, Dr. Kwong Yiu-keung, Ms. Wong Yan-nar, Dr. Benjamin Li, Dr. Kwan Che-ying, Ms. Barbara Chan, Dr. Icy Lee, Dr. Wendy Lam, Dr. Vivienne Yu, Dr. Tse Tso Yuk Wah, Mr. David Chiu, Mrs. Kitty Shearman, Ms. Rebecca Lee, Mr. George Sy, Mrs. Joyce Kwok, Ms. Judy Keung, Ms. Connie Law, Dr. Lau Siu-ling (Alumna), and more.  Former Director of Education Dr. Li Yuet-ting will also join us.
